Job Title: Junior AV/IT Support Engineer
Overview:
The America´s Cup the oldest and most prestigious sailing competitions in the world, dating back to 1851 is scheduled to host its next Louis Vuitton cup and series in Barcelona between August and October 2024.
Over the years, the America´s Cup has evolved with advancements in technology, leading to increasingly sophisticated and high-speed racing yachts, making it one of the most prestigious events in the world of sailing.
We are looking for a passionate and customer-focused individual to join our 37th America’s cup team as an junior AV/IT Support Engineer.
This key role will be in charge of providing end user technical assistance as well as supporting seamless execution of AV set ups, presentations and meetings.
This position requires a combination of technical expertise, excellent communication, and a commitment to making sure the smooth operation of all technology within the event.

This is a 4 month contract starting from 1st July to 31st Oct and you will be expected to work different day working patterns Monday to Sunday and hours may vary between 8:30AM and 6:30PM every day.
Responsibilities:
– AV Equipment Setup and Configuration:
– Support the set up and configure audiovisual equipment, including screens, sound systems, microphones.
– Conduct thorough testing of AV setups to ensure optimal performance during events.
– Assist in the planning and coordination of audiovisual setups, ensuring all technical aspects meet event specifications.
– Collaborate with different event organisers to understand IT and any last minute AV requirements.
End-User Assistance:
– Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users via various channels, including phone, email, and in-person.
– macOS and Windows IT support, ideally having provided 1st and 2nd line support experience within a creative or event environment
Troubleshoot hardware, software, AV and network-related issues and escalate when necessary.
– Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software applications and hardware devices.
– Collaborate with other IT teams for complex installations and upgrades.
Problem Diagnosis and Resolution:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues by guiding users through step-by-step solutions or providing remote assistance.
Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for knowledge base maintenance.
User Training and Education:
Conduct training sessions for end-users on the proper use of software applications, IT equipment and Cybersecurity.
Create user-friendly documentation and tutorials to enhance self-help resources.
Collaboration with IT Teams:
Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
Contribute to cross-functional projects related to IT infrastructure and user support.
Qualifications and Required skills:
– Strong technical knowledge of AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, and lighting.
– Proven experience in providing technical support to end-users.
– Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
– Fluent in both English and Spanish.
– Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a live event environment.
– Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
– Experience with mobile device support (iOS, Android).
– Familiarity with remote desktop support tools.
